Jixi is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province, one of the national important energy bases and regional center cities in southeastern Heilongjiang Province, as determined by the State Council.It is located in northeast China, southeast of Heilongjiang, and is bordered by the Ussuri River and the Song-Archa River in the east and southeast, across the water from Russia.
